Henry Timnick was born in Regina, Canada and emigrated to the U.S. in 1951 to attend university. Shortly after graduating, he was drafted into the U.S. Navy where he served two years. He was an executive at General Electric for 11 years, and several other companies before he became a business owner in the manufacture of consumer goods.
Henry Timnick was born in Regina, Canada and emigrated to the U.S. in 1951 to attend university. Shortly after graduating, he was drafted into the U.S. Navy where he served two years. He was an executive at General Electric for 11 years, and several other companies before he became a business owner in the manufacture of consumer goods. He retired at 59 and moved to California where he is engaged in many philanthropic projects with an emphasis on fighting injustice.

Every day, I commit myself to confronting injustice—not as a gesture, but as a discipline.
Since our family went through so much injustice during the Russian Revolution, our incredible mother instilled in us a fervor to commit ourselves not only to generosity, but also to fight injustice as a way of life. I am doing that.

"No white person in America, including me, has a clue what it is like to get up in the morning as a black person, driving or walking to school, work, or anywhere, and feel, far too often...the prejudice that is unjust and unfair. We must devote ourselves to change that."
